The Weideninsel is an island in the isar river in Munich that is used intensively, especially in summer. Over the years the island has developed into a breeding ground and retreat for many birds and is therefore under landscape protection. Unfortunately, many people disregard this protective regulation. The issuing of warnings and fines has not changed anything so far.
As a peaceful solution, the "Watschel Waben" are now intended to lure bathers from the island. They swim on the river and invite people to sunbathe, grill, and bathe and thus offer an ideal alternative to the Weideninsel. Watschel Waben is a publication and visual identity concept for bathing jetties on isar river. Yes, the book cover is made out of towel.
